The Ryanair Group announced on Thursday that 2021 connections had already been released for booking for the winter flight schedule 22/700 and, as always, a campaign with cheap tickets had been started. But the carrier didn't want to answer a very simple question.

The low-cost airline was asked which destinations from Austria and Germany are offered in the winter flight schedule 2021/22. Ryanair did not name the destinations, but made the following statement: “This is an initial announcement with a selection of Ryanair's most popular winter routes. We do not break the numbers down by market or region as these flight schedules are incomplete and more routes will be added in the coming weeks / months. The connections are available on the Ryanair.com website. "

In other words: Ryanair apparently does not yet know where you will actually fly to in winter 2021/22 and prefers to be careful not to name specific goals. Nothing is easier than quickly deleting a route from your own homepage. The competitor Wizz Air announced specific routes a few days ago. This gives the not unfounded impression that the Irish lowcoster just wanted to "somehow" follow suit.

Who is actually booking for the winter now?

The justified follow-up question that definitely arises: Why should passengers book flight tickets for the winter right now when it is not even rudimentary whether and if so how they can spend their holidays in the summer of 2021? In other words: The announcements of both providers are more likely to be attempts to get a few advance bookings or the associated ticket money into the till. However, it cannot be assumed that the discounted tickets for the winter flight schedule 2021/22 will “go away like hot cakes”. Ryanair's head of marketing gave this quote in the media release: “While we assume that Europeans will enjoy their favorite places this summer after the successful“ roll-out ”of the vaccines, Ryanair would like to offer customers even more choice and something to look for they can look forward to it, regardless of whether it is a sun vacation in July, October or December. With 20 million seats on offer on over 700 routes and other destinations that will be announced in the coming weeks, customers can now book a winter holiday until the end of March 2022, at the lowest possible rates. We have added our favorite destinations Barcelona, Malta and Marrakech to our list of travel destinations this year, and to celebrate the day we have started selling seats with great rates starting at € 29,99 for trips from October 2021 to the end of March 2022, which are up to Must be booked at midnight on Sunday, February 14th, 2021. Since these amazingly low tariffs will sell out quickly, customers should quickly log into www.ryanair.com to book them. "
