The Austrian Salzkammergut wants to attract more holidaymakers this year who don't just want to spend a long weekend at Altaussee or Attersee, but rather want to stay two to three weeks. They also advertise with Gustav Klimt and Gustav Mahler.

Eight regions, 76 lakes, several world-famous places and countless mountains share the name, which tells of salt mining that is thousands of years old. And every elevation, every cool water would be worthy of a note. This also applies to the extraordinary people of these regions, who have always inspired people with their musical talent and craftsmanship. Lucky for those who meet them, are allowed to look over their shoulders or listen to their sensitive tones while making music.

One thing is clear, in the Salzkammergut nature determines the daily program. As long as the glorious weather permits, you can drive gently across the lake and look for a dreamy bathing spot. When the first clouds appear, the towel is exchanged for the bike saddle. Or you can take advantage of the numerous events and the first cultural signs of the European Capital of Culture Bad Ischl 2024. The main thing is that you have time for experiences that only exist in the Salzkammergut. The main thing is that you are in the summer resort.
