Smartlynx airline will continue to expand its Airbus A321P2F fleet. A contract was signed with Aero Capital Solutions for four more examples of this type. These will be operated on the Maltese AOC, where other units are already registered.
The machines will join Smartlynx in a sale and leaseback transaction. Lessor will be Aero Capital Solutions. Zygimantas Surintas, the airline's managing director, said, among other things, that the aim is to further expand the A321P2F capacity. He sees the group of companies he manages as the market leader in this segment.
It currently has four Airbus A321 type conversion freighters. These are operated by Smartlynx Malta. Two units are used exclusively for DHL from Leipzig/Halle. The other two examples also fly for other clients. Smartlynx did not provide any information as to whether the additional machines would be used for the Deutsche Post subsidiary, for example.
