Almost 200.000 Germans visited the Spanish islands in January. Around 144.000 holidaymakers were guests on the Canary Islands, 42.000 on the Balearic Islands. The numbers are - of course - still below those before Corona, but are at least eight times better than in 2021.

So it's no wonder that the organizers are chartering extra planes due to the sharp increase in demand and are ordering additional contingents from the hoteliers. Some of these agreements were made to open earlier, which applies to Mallorca as well as Ibiza and Menorca. At Tui, four Spanish islands are in the top ten of current bookings: Mallorca in first place, the bathing island of Fuerteventura in sixth place, Gran Canaria in eighth place and Tenerife in tenth place.
