The Icelandic low-cost airline Play intends to launch a non-stop connection between Keflavik and Athens from June 2, 2023. This is to be served with the Airbus A320neo machine type.

Initially, two rounds per week are to be offered. Outbound flights will operate as OG590 on Monday and Friday traffic days. Keflavik will be left at around 6:00 am. The landing in the Greek capital should take place around 14:50 p.m. The return trip is the following day at 10:00 a.m. The return to Iceland is scheduled for 13:20 p.m.

Competitor Neos will operate a single charter flight for an operator from Keflavik in November 2022. This leads to Punta Cana under flight number NO5920. It is currently planned that a Boeing 737-800 will be used. Returning on December 4, 2022. It is currently a single charter, meaning no further flights are planned.
