The airline Swiss wants to lift all measures introduced due to the corona pandemic by January 2023. It is currently assumed that flight operations will be fully normal again by then. However, the return to the number of passengers before the crisis has yet to be achieved.
Like many other airlines, Swiss introduced numerous measures immediately after the start of the pandemic that were intended to massively reduce costs. They believe that these have paid off and announce that the last restrictions will probably be lifted in January 2023. It is about wage cuts that are still being practiced.
"Two years of short-time work, crisis management agreements and restructuring in connection with very demanding flight operations have demanded a lot from all employees. Against this background and in view of the gradual recovery in demand for air travel, we believe it is right to gradually lift the crisis management measures agreed in Switzerland from the beginning of next year," says CEO Dieter Vranckx.
