For people who are planning a vacation in Thailand, the currently confusing situation around the opening to international tourism should not be easy. It is now being considered that the capital Bangkok should open from November 2021 at the earliest.

Thailand repeatedly postponed the restart of tourism. Most recently it was announced that the regions would be gradually expanding should open to international tourism between the beginning of October and the middle of October. According to the current state of information, the capital will take a special route and allow fully vaccinated people to enter for tourist purposes from the second week of November at the earliest.

The local authorities justify the decision by stating that the vaccination rate is only 42 percent and that the capital is only open to tourists from at least 70 percent. The earliest possible time communicated for the opening is the second week of November. It therefore remains to be seen how the other regions of Thailand will behave. It is also still completely unclear what effects all of this will have on those switching.
