The employees of the Austrian Airlines ground station in Linz have until May 8, 2021 to give their approval or rejection of the imminent transfer of operations to the ISS. It can be heard from employee circles that only two employees have spoken out in favor of switching to the new employer.
Everyone else should prefer that they be transferred to a labor foundation. That could lead to problems because ISS would then lack the specialist staff in Linz. According to reports, it is planned that employees of the AUA ground station Vienna in Linz should help out, at least in the initial phase. The one in Linz is to be closed on May 31, 2021 and transferred to ISS by transfer of operations.
The airline concerned did not want to comment on the current developments. A spokesman replied: “Austrian Airlines, Linz Airport and ISS Austria were able to agree on a transfer of operations for Austrian ground staff. From June 1, 2021, the employment relationships of all 26 employees will be transferred to ISS Austria, if they so wish. Alternatively, employees have the option of mutually terminating their service contract including a social package. The deadline for this is May 9th. Until then, out of respect for our employees, we do not want to comment on further details or speculations ”.
