The High Court has dismissed a lawsuit brought against the UK traffic light by British Airways, Easyjet, Ryanair, Tui UK and other industry giants. According to the ruling, the system would not contradict the current legal situation.
The stumbling block was that a yellow rating required quarantine in the UK. Plaintiffs argued that the government's decisions are incomprehensible as areas with significantly lower incidences than the UK are also on the amber list.
The High Court did not follow the argument and also found that the Department of Transport does not have to disclose the reasons for the respective classification. The claiming parties have the opportunity to appeal to the next instance. This step is considered extremely likely.
