The tour operator Hotelplan Suisse is assuming a high demand for holidays abroad. The company cites a survey in which around 13.000 people took part. According to the hotel plan, the results show that there is a great need for holidays outside Switzerland.
65 percent of the French-speaking countries surveyed stated that they are currently very keen on vacation. In German-speaking Switzerland, 47 percent currently want to go on vacation. The majority of all respondents (60 percent) said, however, that the pandemic is currently preventing them from traveling abroad.
“The survey shows that our customers have a lot of catching up to do and that they would like a break from the corona measures in Switzerland. However, the volatile travel regulations of the various countries as well as the obligation to test when traveling to and from the country are currently preventing them from planning and booking their next vacation ”, says Tim Bachmann, CEO Hotelplan Suisse.
47 percent of all respondents stated that they will travel abroad again as soon as they are vaccinated against Covid-19 and 63 percent are considering traveling abroad if they do not have to take a Covid-19 test for their trip. In addition, 44 percent of those surveyed stated that they are currently not traveling abroad because there is great concern about corona disease or that they currently do not want to travel due to their social responsibility (47 percent of all respondents).
As can also be seen from the evaluations of the customer survey, 76 percent of customers want security and flexible cancellation conditions from tour operators. The desire for information about current travel regulations is also very pronounced (64 percent of all respondents). Ensuring an uncomplicated course of the trip, including the organization of all necessary documents and a PCR test, is also a great need (55 percent of all respondents).
