Probably on November 1, 2021, Israel wants to open up again to individual travelers after a long border closure. So far, only citizens and organized groups can enter under certain conditions.

Health Minister Nitzan Horowitz and his government colleague Joel Raswosow, who is responsible for tourism, have presented the plans, which have yet to be finally approved by the cabinet. The basic condition for entry to Israel will be proof of vaccination. All vaccines approved by the WHO are recognized.

At least two weeks must have passed after the so-called complete immunization. This does not apply to the Biontech / Pfizer vaccine, which should be sufficient seven days after the second dose. It should also be noted that after six months, Israel requires proof of a booster vaccination. Similarly, at least seven or 14 days must have passed.

For those who have recovered, the rule should apply that, in addition to proving that they have survived the disease, at least one vaccination dose must be proven. The six-month maximum validity must also be observed here.

Multiple PCR tests required

It is currently planned that a negative PCR result, which must not be older than 72 hours, must also be submitted. At the airports you have to take another smear test and go straight to your accommodation or hotel. We advise against leaving the room or accommodation until the evaluation has been received, which should be available on the same day.

In order to be able to leave Israel, one also has to undergo a PCR test again. This can be organized through hotels or the government test centers can be visited. The costs of all PCR tests carried out in Israel are to be borne by yourself. In direct comparison with Europe, however, the fees are low. Before entering the airport or the aircraft, proof of vaccination and test must be presented.

The provisions are not yet final. Has a good overview Tourist Israel provided at this link. People who want to travel to Israel should keep an eye on the developments in entry regulations and be sure to keep themselves regularly informed about the current state of affairs. In the absence of evidence, entry should be refused.
