Rapid antigen tests are now also being carried out in the Health Center at Vienna-Schwechat Airport for 35 euros. These are offered in addition to the much more expensive PCR tests.
You do not need to reserve an appointment to take advantage of the rapid test. After the throat swab, the results should be sent to the test person in German and English within a short time. Some countries recognize negative antigen tests for entry relief.
However, passengers should definitely find out whether a negative test result entitles them to quarantine-free entry. This is currently not the case in many countries. It is also important to find out whether antigen findings are recognized or whether only PCR results are permitted. PCR tests at Vienna Airport cost 120 euros.
