The Danube Steamship Company carried out a fire drill in front of the MS Kaiserin Elisabeth this week. The entire nautical staff of the shipping company was called up for fire-fighting training.

Fighting the most varied types of fire with all the extinguishing devices available on board was practiced for a whole morning and the dangers of wrong action were clearly demonstrated.

"It is impressive to experience the professional commitment of the employees in this very important topic, from the apprentices to the fleet captain," says Kurt Gollowitzer, Managing Director of Wien Holding, who got an idea on site.

"The optimal training of our nautical staff is very important to us as a traditional training company in terms of the safety and satisfaction of our passengers," emphasizes Wolfgang Hanreich, Managing Director of DDSG Blue Danube Schiffahrt GmbH. And managing director colleague Wolfgang Fischer adds: "This means that our great team is ready for the start of the season on April 1.4st. in Vienna and 16.4. well prepared in every respect in the Wachau.”
