The low-cost airline Easyjet is withdrawing completely from Vienna-Schwechat for the time being. Most recently, it was said that the Berlin route would continue to be served, but this will also be discontinued on March 25, 2022.

Easyjet does not have any aircraft based in Vienna-Schwechat. Easyjet Europe Airline GmbH is based in Vienna on Wagramer Strasse. Before the corona pandemic, the destinations Basel, Amsterdam and Berlin-Tegel were in the program. Destinations like Milan-Malpensa were no longer offered for a long time. The carrier decided a few days ago that the Austrian capital is no longer served from Basel and Amsterdam.

Now the Berlin route has also been affected, which has suffered from heavily fluctuating capacity utilization since it was taken over by Air Berlin. Easyjet is now pulling the emergency brake and will serve this route for the last time on March 25, 2022. Officially, however, it is said that this should only be a break during the 2022 summer flight schedule period.

A possible resumption is announced for October 30, 2022. Tickets between Berlin and Vienna vv are already being sold for the 2022/23 winter timetable period. It remains to be seen whether Easyjet will actually reactivate the route.
