British Airways will wet-lease four Airbus A2022-321 aircraft from its Oneworld partner Finnair in the current 200 summer period. The machines will be stationed at London Heathrow Airport and will be used on the European route network.

According to Finnair's latest annual report, Finnair's first two Airbus A321-200s will enter service from May 3, 2022. The other two machines will follow in June 2022. For the time being, it has been agreed that the four Airbus A321-200s per aircraft will fly around four months for the IAG subsidiary. There is a possibility of extending the cooperation.

Finnair boss Topi Manner said: “We are preparing for the closure of Russian airspace and have started to take adjustment measures. As far as the network is concerned, we are orienting ourselves towards West and South Asia and are also opening up India and the USA, for example. Over the past few months, our team has been working hard to find a profitable use for our idle capacity after the Russian airspace closure.”
