The Russian cargo airline Air Bridge Cargo landed on Friday at around 17:15 p.m. with a Boeing 747-8F in Vienna-Schwechat. FFP2 protective masks were on board. The jumbo jet was chartered by an Austrian wholesaler for medical products.

According to Medical United, it will be the largest single delivery of FFP2 masks to date. There were about seven million pieces on board the Air Bridge Cargo machine. The masks are now to be delivered to Austrian pharmacies, medical facilities and other customers of the wholesaler. The Boeing 747-8F picked up the goods in Shenzhen, China.

It should not be the last large delivery, because Medical United states that they have ordered around 30 million more FFP2 masks. These are to be flown to Austria in the next few weeks. The wholesaler also imports the currently sought-after rapid antigen tests.

"We are proud to be able to contribute to the fight against pandemics with this large delivery of FFP2 masks at a particularly important time, as well as with our wide range of antigen tests," explains Medical United Managing Director Michael Davidson when taking over the load Vienna Airport. “We see ourselves as a strong partner for the entire health sector, with high-quality protective products and excellent availability due to the long-standing business and trade relationships of our group of companies. In total, we have already been able to provide 100 million masks since the beginning of the pandemic, and another 100 million pieces are planned for sale. With more than 20 years of experience in international trade, logistics and sales, we can also deliver top quality in large quantities and with short order deadlines. "
