The Vienna base of the Hungarian low-cost airline Wizz Air is currently going into a downright hibernation, because temporarily only a single weekly flight pair is operated. All other stretches rest.

In February 2021, the carrier wants to reactivate the destinations Dortmund, Tirana, Pristina, Suceava and Kiew-Schuljany, albeit with a lower frequency. All other destinations are to be resumed from March 2021 - provided the pandemic situation and demand allow. An overview of the Wizz Air routes from Austria planned for the summer flight schedule 2021 can be found in this article.

At least until February 8, 2021, the Hungarian low-cost airline will only operate one flight pair per week from Vienna. This takes place on Saturdays on the Tenerife route. If the ban on passenger flights that have started in the United Kingdom is lifted, the Luton route will be operated again at least once a week from January 24, 2021. It is unclear whether the government will lift the ban imposed due to a new mutation in the corona virus or not. An extension is generally to be expected.

Wizz Air is currently planning to operate the following low-frequency routes from Vienna in February 2020:

  • Dortmund - from February 08.02.2021th, XNUMX
  • Tirana - from February 12.02.2021th, XNUMX
  • London Luton - from January 24.01.2021th, XNUMX at the earliest (depending on the general government ban)
  • Pristina - from February 12.02.2021th, XNUMX
  • Suceava - from February 18, 2021
  • Tenerife South - The route is currently operated once a week
  • Kiev Shulyany - from February 12, 2021

All other routes are to be reactivated gradually and staggered from March 1, 2021, depending on the pandemic situation and demand.
