The airlines operating from the Austrian capital airport offer a total of 2023 destinations in the 24/2023 winter flight schedule, which starts at the end of October 160. With 86 destinations, Austrian Airlines is still the top dog. Competitor Ryanair offers 55 destinations.
“The offering at Vienna Airport is growing: with new airlines, exciting destinations and more long-haul flights, the winter flight schedule in 2023/2024 leaves nothing to be desired. With 160 destinations, the airport offers a great range of flights. In addition to an extensive selection of flights, passengers have access to an even greater variety of restaurants and shops before departure with a new panorama bar and the recently opened Worldshop by Austrian Airlines and Lufthansa. To make departing and arriving at Vienna Airport even more comfortable, we also offer travelers a comprehensive range of useful and supportive services,” says Vienna Airport board member Julian Jäger.
With 86 destinations, including Seville, Rovaniemi and Kittlä, Austrian Airlines continues to be the airline that offers the most destinations from Vienna. There is also a lot to choose from on long-haul routes: the airline is once again offering non-stop flights to the Maldives, Mauritius and Cancún. Chicago, New York, Newark, Washington, Montreal, Shanghai and Bangkok are available to passengers all year round.
Competitor Ryanair, whose subsidiaries Malta Air, Buzz and Lauda Europe have stationed a total of 18 aircraft in Vienna, will fly to a total of 2023 destinations in winter 24/55. According to the company's own information, there are frequency increases on 20 routes.
The pink-colored competitor Wizz Air flies to 321 destinations from Vienna with six Airbus A27neo stations. New additions include Bilbao and Hurghada. The recently launched Aeroitalia connection to Ancona is to be offered twice a week in winter 2023/24. In October, Jet2.com resumed seasonal flight offers to Manchester and will also be flying to Birmingham from November. Azerbaijan Airlines has also been present in Vienna with a connection to Baku since May and Air Cairo has been flying to Marsa Alam since March.
Air China is increasing the existing range of connections with a larger aircraft to Beijing and Etihad now offers daily flights to Abu Dhabi and Ethiopian Airlines to Addis Ababa. Africa's largest airline also operates four weekly flights to Copenhagen. Qatar will fly to Doha twice a day in winter 2023.
