Spanish low-cost airline Vueling has sold take-off and landing rights at London Luton Airport to competitor Wizz Air UK. The pink low coster will use the slot pairs to increase existing connections to Romania and Poland.
Most recently, Wizz Air expanded particularly at Gatwick Airport. For example, the Vienna route was relocated from Luton to the second largest airport in the United Kingdom. Now you want to grow again at the home base of the UK offshoot.
With the help of the two daily slot pairs, which were bought from the IAG subsidiary Vueling, the frequencies to Bacau, Craiova, Iasi, Sibiu and Timisoara as well as to Wroclaw are to be increased. According to Wizz Air, the increase will take effect from May 11, 2022. The company puts the increase in capacity at 167.000 seats. Around 2022 million seats will be offered from Luton during the 5,6 summer period. Flights are offered to 75 destinations.
