In the last few days, the airline Swiss has made some changes to the reservation system for long-haul flights. On some routes, frequencies are reduced or smaller aircraft are used.
In the 2022/23 winter flight schedule, Swiss is reducing the range of long-haul connections that are offered from the Zurich-Kloten home base. For example, the number of weekly flights to Los Angeles will be reduced from daily to five to six rotations per week.
In the winter of 2022/23, in the direction of Mumbai, the Airbus A340-300 will no longer be used, but rather the A330. Although there will be no withdrawal of frequencies, as it is currently planned that flights should continue to be flown daily, fewer seats will be offered due to the smaller type of aircraft.
The New York-JFK service will be reduced to 14 weekly rotations from 8 weekly rotations as of November 2022, 11. Between December 1st and, for the time being, December 20th, 2022, only one daily pair of courses will be offered. Then they want to gradually increase to 14 flights per week.
Tokyo-Narita will be served four times a week between October 30 and February 2, 2023. From February 3, 2023 to March 25, 2023, five trips per week can be booked. Originally it was announced that this route should be served daily. The destinations Shanghai and Beijing (Daxing) will not be offered in winter 2022/23.
From January 9, 2023, the Dubai route will no longer be served with Boeing 777-300ER, but with Airbus A330-300. There are also reductions on the following routes: Montreal (six times a week on the A330-300), San Francisco (six times a week on the B777-300ER) and Singapore (six times a week on the B777-300ER).
