There is currently little demand for airline tickets due to the corona pandemic. In the last few days, the low-cost airlines Ryanair and Wizzair have trumped each other with new special offers almost every day. On the occasion of Cyber-Mondays, the Hungarians advertise with a 25 percent discount and the Irish with flight tickets for five euros.
However, the offers also have a catch. At Ryanair, the travel period is limited to December and January 2021. This makes usability less attractive due to the currently tough entry and quarantine regulations in many countries. Although the carrier waives rebooking fees, any tariff difference must be paid later. With a five-euro ticket, it is very likely that you will have to pay more.
Wizzair does not allow any free rebooking in the standard tariff. To do this, the Flex package must be purchased for a fee. However, this also has a catch with regard to reimbursements, because the low-cost airline excludes repayment. Only a credit to the customer account is possible.
