On Friday afternoon, the Alpen-Sylt-Nachtxpress of the private railway company RDC Germany officially started operating between Sylt and Salzburg and Radolfzell. The routes are to be operated four times a week until the beginning of November 2021.

"In addition to Salzburg, we are now also offering passengers in southern Hesse and Baden-Württemberg this comfortable and climate-friendly direct connection by train overnight to the North Sea and Sylt and back," says Markus Hunkel, Managing Director of RDC Germany.

Couch and sleeping car compartments as well as seats are offered. According to the homepage, the compartments can currently only be booked "privately". In this case there is no mask requirement. Mouth and nose protection must be worn in the area of the seats, which are designed as open-plan areas.
