In cooperation with National Geographic Expeditions, the tour operator Tui is further expanding the offering. There are around 40 other destinations on offer that are supposedly certified as sustainable.

Destinations where National Geographic Day Tours are available include Barcelona, Cancún, Crete, Paphos, New York, Naples, Tenerife and many more. Many of the day and half-day routes offer exclusive access to areas otherwise inaccessible to the public. All tours are accompanied by experts. Archaeologists, marine biologists, chefs, farmers, photographers, historians and other scientists share their knowledge.

“National Geographic Day Tours are unique experiences that offer something for everyone – whether you’re a beach lover or a city explorer. These are carefully crafted tours that tell the story of each destination, in the National Geographic tradition of high-quality, authentic and local experiences. “They offer exactly what many travelers are looking for,” says Peter Ulwahn, CEO of TUI Musement, the tours and activities division of the TUI Group. “Developing and executing unique, differentiated products is an essential part of TUI Musement’s growth strategy and we look forward to continuing this with National Geographic Expeditions.”

Strong booking trends for winter sun destinations and a growing range of city breaks are enabling a significant number of TUI guests to immediately take part in one of the newly released National Geographic Day Tours, such as:

  • Barcelona, Spain: Homage to Miró
  • Cancún, Mexico: Reef Restoration
  • Gran Canaria, Spain: The Secret of the Guanches with an Archaeologist
  • Naples, Italy: The History and Journey of Pasta
  • New York: Hudson Yards, where sustainability meets urban design
