According to its own statements, the Tui travel group alone will have around one million guests from Austria, Germany and Switzerland in Antalya, Turkey, in the 2023 summer season. The company believes that those who book early have secured the best rates on the beach.

The tour operator also notes the fact that holiday trips are again being booked well in advance. It's not many months yet, but in direct comparison with the previous year it's still about two weeks. Early booking offers are said to have been used by numerous Tui customers in view of the constant rise in prices in everyday life. Nevertheless, you still have one or the other last-minute offer “in stock”.

According to Tui, the current booking figures for midsummer 2023 are significantly higher than in 2019, i.e. before the corona pandemic. We also got a lot of regular customers back. These are likely to have spent their holidays on balconies in recent summers.

The trend towards short and medium-haul destinations has increased again. More than every third trip leads to Greece. The most popular island for TUI guests is Crete. The holiday destination of Antalya is always in a head-to-head race with Crete for the top spot in the best-booked destinations. Turkey is growing strongly: Around 17 percent of guests from Austria decide to vacation on Turkish beaches. TUI is registering high growth in Antalya and has correspondingly expanded its offering: more than a million holiday guests from Austria, Germany and Switzerland are expected this year. Like Hurghada in Egypt, which is also showing strong growth, the Turkish Riviera destination is very popular with all-inclusive fans. Majorca, Rhodes, Kos and Cyprus are also in demand.

For guests who prefer to go on holiday by car, northern Italy with the Upper Adriatic Sea and Lake Garda is, as usual, the top priority. Croatia is catching up and in Austria the regions of Tyrol and Salzburg are particularly popular.

The USA remains the top long-haul travel destination with the largest number of guests. Thailand is making a real comeback with a 290 percent increase and is third in the ranking behind the Maldives. The most desirable destinations continue to be Bangkok, Khao Lak and Koh Samui. The United Arab Emirates follow in fourth place ahead of Indonesia, Tanzania and Mauritius. Zanzibar recorded strong growth compared to the pre-crisis summer. The TUI Blue Bahari Zanzibar and the two Riu Hotels Palace Zanzibar and Riu Jambo are particularly popular here.
