The newly built ship Viva One will initially be used by the shipping company Viva Cruises on the Rhine and its tributaries. River cruises lasting five to seven days were offered.

The ship was christened in Düsseldorf. From there, the Viva One will in future pierce the Rhine and also set course for the Netherlands. In the coming year, river cruises with the Viva One will also be offered from Amsterdam and Brussels.

This ship offers capacity for 176 passengers who are to be looked after by 48 crew members. The design of the interior is based on the look of the previous fleet. In the technical area, however, there are some innovations. For example, a total of 68 solar panels are mounted on both sides of the sun deck. These feed additional energy into the on-board network, which is also used for the bow thruster.

The hull shape is designed to reduce fuel consumption. According to the shipping company, all engines of the Viva One are operated with synthetic GTL diesel. This should ensure fewer pollutant emissions.
