The Keys island chain, which belongs to the US state, is also known for the many bridges that connect the mainland and many islands. After a long repair period, the Old Seven Mile Bridge will be open to visitors again from mid-January 2022.

The building was extensively renovated for around four years and the reopening is imminent. At the same time, several anniversaries are celebrated in this region of the United States of America. Everglades National Park has existed for 75 years and Key West is celebrating its 200th anniversary.

The Old Seven Mile Bridge is considered one of the most important landmarks in the Florida Keys. Much of the bridge runs parallel to the new highway. The historic building was extensively renovated for around 78 million US dollars and will be accessible again from mid-January 2022. The bridge, built in 1912, was originally designed for rail traffic. Now it can only be used on foot or by bike.
