The Lithuanian charter airline Heston Airlines only started operations last year. An offshoot has now been founded in Malta, which is scheduled to start in the first quarter of 2023. Once again, an aviation company has decided to operate flights based in the island state.

Currently, Heston Airlines specializes in providing charter and ACMI services. The Vilnius-based carrier was founded in 2020 and operated the first commercial flight last year. Currently the fleet consists of five Airbus A320 and three Airbus A330-200. AirExplore is also flown for you with a Boeing 737-800.

Heston has set up a subsidiary in Malta which, according to Mavio News, is in the process of becoming an airline. The AOC and operating license are expected to be issued in the first quarter of 2023. It is currently still unclear which machines the new company will operate.

Numerous new providers based in Malta have been launched in recent months. For example, it is about Eurowings Europe, Wizz Air Malta, Savingskin Malta and some more. The Ukrainian low-cost airline SkyUp is currently building a branch, which will be included in the summer timetable 2023 should be on the road with up to 19 machines. It is currently expected that SkyUp MT will shortly receive AOC and operating approval.
