Next cruise corona cluster: MSC Grandiosa

With the MSC Grandiosa, another cruise ship is struggling with corona cases on board. So far, at least 45 people are said to have tested positive for the coronavirus, although no details have been given about the variant.

In the last few weeks, shipping companies have struggled with in some cases larger clusters on board despite the fact that mostly only those who have been completely vaccinated are allowed on board with negative tests. This led, among other things, to the Aida Exit the Aidanova and Tui Cruises those of the Mein Schiff 6 had to break off prematurely.

The operator of the Grandiosa, MSC, announced, among other things, that the people who tested positive on board had been isolated and then disembarked. They have cooperated with the health authorities and used the nearest possible port for disembarkation. A possible abort of the current trip should - at least for now - not be an issue.
