Austria's Minister of Health has issued a special provision that makes it much easier to travel from the Federal Republic of Germany. This is an anticipation of the upcoming travel facilitation, which will apply from May 19, 2021. The current relaxation for people coming from Germany is already in force.

Specifically, the new Paragraph 4a of the Entry Ordinance provides that people who have stayed exclusively in Austria or Germany in the last ten days and can present a medical certificate, a negative test result, a vaccination certificate or a recovery certificate are exempt from quarantine.

“If neither a medical certificate nor a test result, a vaccination certificate or a recovery certificate can be presented, a molecular biological test for SARS-CoV-24 or an antigen test for SARS-CoV-2 must be carried out immediately, at least within 2 hours of entry to let. The costs for the test are to be borne by yourself. The negative test result has to be shown during a control, ”says the ordinance of Wolfgang Mückstein (Greens).

With regard to the validity of vaccinations, the ordinance stipulates that only “centrally approved vaccines” are recognized. What is meant by this is the EMA approval, so that for example Sputnik V and Sinopharm are currently excluded. Furthermore, it was published in the Federal Law Gazette: "For entry according to § 4a and § 6a Paragraph 1a, a medical certificate according to Paragraph 1 and a test result according to Paragraph 2 is a medical certificate issued in German or English in accordance with Annexes C or D or a vaccination certificate on vaccination with a centrally approved vaccine against COVID-19, if the following conditions are met: 1. from the 22nd day after the first vaccination, whereby this must not be more than three months ago, or 2. second vaccination, whereby the first vaccination is no longer may be more than nine months ago, or 3rd vaccination from the 22nd day after vaccination for vaccines for which only one vaccination is planned, whereby this may not be more than nine months ago, or 4th vaccination, provided at least 21 days before Vaccination a positive molecular biological test for SARS-CoV-2 or proof of neutralizing antibodies before the vaccination, whereby the vaccination is no longer a l may be nine months ago ”.
