A recent survey conducted by Germany's Allensbach Institute found that 18 percent of German residents should plan fewer vacation trips. The background is said to be concerns about the recent price increases due to the war in Ukraine.
The survey was carried out by Allensbach on behalf of the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung and also revealed that 54 percent of the participants want to pay more attention to prices in everyday life. Because of the increased energy costs, 47 percent of those surveyed want to heat their apartment or house less.
Giving up vacation travel is obviously not a high priority. According to this study, only about a fifth of Germans should drastically reduce spending on vacation or during vacation.
