The travel group DER Touristik is cutting 253 full-time jobs in Cologne and Frankfurt am Main. According to the announcement, 14 management positions are also to be saved. The company puts this into perspective and only speaks of “arithmetical full-time positions” and strives to motivate as many employees as possible to leave the company voluntarily by means of severance payments.

However, a corresponding agreement was concluded with the works council. Product management is now placed under uniform management. So far, the locations have operated largely independently of one another. Company boss Ingo Burmester explains that the travel restrictions mean that you have no other choice and that double structures have to be resolved for cost reasons.
