The Austrian travel group Verkehrsbüro separates from the Business Travel division. In the future, the focus will be on leisure travel and hospitality. A corresponding purchase contract was signed with BTU Business Travel Unlimited Reisebüro GmbH.

The latter company is fully owned by Raiffeisenlandesbank Oberösterreich and will take over the business travel division of Verkehrsbüro AG retrospectively as of January 1, 2022. The transaction includes the companies Verkehrsbüro Business Travel GmbH and AX Travel Management GmbH. The local MICE business (conventions, meetings, etc.) remains with VERKEHRSBUERO. A total of around 120 employees are changing, including the two managing directors Thomas Kreillechner and Peter Tolinger.

“In the future, we will expand our strengths in the area of leisure and holiday travel in Germany and abroad - both in the travel agency sector, in direct sales and as a tour operator. We are also clearly focusing on our activities in the field of hospitality - with an absolute focus on upscale city hotels, our future projects in city camping and the successful Palais Events including Café Central.”
